Ex-Uber CEO Travis Kalanick Finally Ends His L.A. Renting Spell with This New Bel-Air Estate

It looks like former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick has finally decided to establish a more permanent residence in Los Angeles. After renting at the Trousdale Estates in Beverly Hills for a jaw-dropping $100,000 a month, the billionaire has reportedly splurged some serious bucks for a mansion in Bel-Air.

Take a peek at his new digs and see what $43.3 million bought him in the ritzy neighborhood.

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

The home comes newly renovated by its previous owner

The new Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reportedly purchased his home for a heavily discounted price. It was initially going for a much more expensive $75 million but was reduced significantly later on.

Despite that massive price difference, though, the 43-year-old businessman’s purchase still qualified as the fourth most significant sale of an L.A. home this year. This puts Kalanick just below Honey founder George Ruan’s acquisition of a Bel-Air estate for $60 million.

The one that topped the list is Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ new Beverly Hills estate that was worth $165 million.

Back to Kalanick’s purchase, the estate was reportedly bought by real estate magnate Chris Cole in 2014. The Arizona-based tycoon had trouble selling the place over the years that followed.

Colonial Mansion

One of the home’s best features is its large wine cellar, which can hold thousands of bottles of wine

Built in the ‘30s, the house is built in the Spanish Colonial style and boasts of 20,000 square feet of living space.

The estate is decorated with a theme of ‘opulent minimalism’ as evident in the mix of muted hues and gold accents found throughout its interiors. It also utilizes L.A.’s abundance of sunlight with its numerous steel windows.

It comes gated and fitted with security cameras for its new resident’s privacy and safety. The mansion was owned by the late owner of the Los Angeles Rams, Georgia Frontiere, from the ‘70s to the mid-2000s.

Mediterranean Style Property

The rest of the 1.7-acre grounds is landscaped with tall hedges, grasses, and olive trees

Outside, the property features plenty of space for entertaining and relaxing.

There’s the swimming pool equipped with an inset spa as well as a Baja shelf perfect for sunbathing. Just nearby is a cabana with a wet bar built in the shade.

Of course, the estate’s master bedroom doesn’t disappoint either.

Its 2,500-square-feet size alone makes it one-of-a-kind as it is almost as large as the average American home. Adding to its opulence are the showroom closets and spa-style baths that come with it.
